威海市位于山东半岛最东端，三面临海，是中国大陆距离日本东京、韩国首尔最近的城市，海岸线长985.9千米，总面积5799.8平方公里，常住人口283.6万.现辖环翠区、文登区、荣成市、乳山市，设有高技术产业开发区、经济技术开发区、临港经济技术开发区、综合保税区、南海新区，拥有4个国家一类对外开放口岸。2019年，地区生产总值2963.73亿元，全年对外贸易进出口总额1402.13亿元。
Weihai is located in the easternmost part of Shandong Peninsula and is bordered by the sea on three sides. It is the closest city in Mainland China to Japan and Seoul. It has a coastline of 985.9 kilometers and covers a total area of 5799.8 square kilometers with a population of 2.836 million. Weihai exercises jurisdiction over Huancui District, Wendeng District, Rongcheng City, Rushan City, Weihai Torch Ti-tech Science Park, Weihai Economic and Technological Development zone, Weihai Lingang Economic and Technological Development Zone, Comprehensive Bonded Zone, and Weihai Nanhai New Area. It has 4 national first-class ports open to the outside world. In 2019, Weihai’s regional GDP was 296.373 billion yuan, and the total foreign trade import and export totaled RMB 140.213 billion in 2019.
